Great! You’ve decided to embrace veganism and a life committed to opposing oppression. Perhaps you are saying to yourself, “Now what? Where do I go from here?” And the answer is, get active! Not only is it important to make personal choices that reflect our opposition to violence and exploitation, it is equally valuable to speak to others about those choices and to educate everyone around us about how they can help to end oppression. Individually choosing to be vegan, you are removing your participation from the system of oppression. However, we can work to abolish the system itself by encouraging others to make the same choice, educating them about the various ways animals and human animals are exploited.

Armed with the desire to effect great change in your community and beyond, the next question you may ask yourself might be, “Which form of advocacy do I choose?” To help you with this decision, L.O.V.E. has created the chart below, which presents some of the factors to consider when choosing the type of advocacy that works best with your personality and schedule. You may be surprised to discover that you have already been incorporating activism into your daily life!
