Circus
Who would choose to spend their entire life in captivity … if they had a choice?

Humans use non-human animals without their consent in circuses.
Please don’t support circuses with non-consenting performers

An individual enduring a life of captivity for human benefit.
‘Wild’ animals used in circuses are either forcibly taken from their homes and their families or bred by humans for the sole purpose of serving us.
Having the greater power, humans force captive animals to ‘perform’ in circuses. Some animals, like elephants, may be forced to work for over 45 years for our entertainment.
Their lives are considered to have no value outside the money they make for their captors.

Non-human animals in circuses are forced to perform by humans for our entertainment.
When they are too injured, old, or sick to work, they may be ‘retired’ to facilities where they are used to breed another generation of animals for human use or sold to zoos or other circuses.
Never in their lives do they have a choice. Humans control every aspect of their lives, from the moment they are taken into captivity until the day they die.

Humans control every aspect of the lives of non-human animals exploited in circuses.
You can help stop this.
- All non-human animals used in circuses, rodeos, and zoos are denied lives of their own choosing.
- They are forcibly taken from their homes and families, or bred in captivity for the sole purpose of serving us.
- They are valued only for the money they can make for their captors.
- We can choose to not support the exploitation of non-consenting individuals in circuses and elsewhere.
What can you do to help?
- Don’t attend circuses that use non-human animals.
- Instead, choose fun activities that don’t exploit others: sports events, concerts, movies, museums, ice skating, and picnics.
- Learn about other ways non-human animals are exploited by humans, including for food, clothing and experimentation.
- Educate others about the use of non-human animals in circuses and elsewhere.
